With numerous studies and traffic network analysis on behalf of the Municipal Authorities of Vienna ISP significantly formed the development of Vienna’s subway system. As a consequence the office was in a leading position in the final planning of the 1st extension stage of Vienna’s subway system.
In the 1980s the office was significantly involved, besides numerous planning activities in structural and civil engineering, in the further expansion of Vienna’s subway system (2nd extension stage, lines U3 and U6). Beside subway planning railway planning for the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) and for the Railway high-performance route Plc. (HL-AG) was conducted.
From 1992 on the main areas of activity were railway planning (like Lainzer Tunnel) and subway planning (preparation of the 3rd extension stage of Vienna’s subway system) as well as project management as new business activity.
During the last years and also at present ISP has repeatedly been involved in international projects (e.g. subway Berlin, Dnjepropetrowsk etc.).
Currently ISP deals with the further extension of underground line U2/U5- covering the total of all planning phases (submission, tender and detailed planning) until the finalisation of the construction.
